Maple Bay is a large, protected bay located in the middle of Sansum Narrows – the narrow channel that runs between Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island – with many nautical attractions.
A buzzing maritime destination, Maple Bay is home to marinas, a public dock, Maple Bay Rowing Club and the Maple Bay Yacht Club. Next to the small seaside village is a family friendly public beach with warm swimming. Maple Mountain, with its extensive hiking trails, lies to the north while Mount Tzouhalem, with more hiking and biking opportunities, is on the west side of the bay. Regular float plane service operates to Salt Spring Island and Vancouver. Down the road is Bird’s Eye Cove Farm, settled in the 1860’s, which hosts regular pizza nights in an idyllic location.
